Promotions tout Marks & Wynhoff shoes and a sale on Arctica footwear. Public notices mention gasoline can labeling and egg sale laws.
Beginning January 1, 1907, the Bigwovp Dave Co Stanton Jewelry Co. will close its store at 8 p.m. daily and continue this schedule with no further notice.

Albert Draves of Bassett and Ernest Schmidt of Charles City suffered severe arm injuries in a corn shredder accident at Henry Silsbee farm, with Draves losing most of his left arm and Schmidt's arm nearly severed above the elbow. both required immediate amputation and medical care.
Thomas Hauser a long time resident of Chickasaw county Iowa, died at age 62 after a second self inflicted throat wound. He had previously attempted to end his life six weeks earlier with a razor, found by relatives at the farm home four miles west of the city. Doctors Ira K. Gardner and O M L Landon treated him, but age and weakened health prevented recovery. Survived by three sisters and eight children. Burial set for Catholic church in North Washington.
An item from the Waterloo Courier reports Rev G E Shear of Toledo describing Mrs Shear's severe illness. She is described as absolutely helpless, unable to read, move, or tend to herself for fourteen weeks, with only limited use of her hands for feeding.

Orrin Dana, employed at the Prank Leichman barn, was kicked under the chin by a horse at J. B. Bender’s home Monday at 12 30 pm and lost consciousness. Treasurers Paul Kempendorf and Henry Rahoff aided and carried him to Mr. C. S. Putdey’s home. Dr. Landon treated and sewed up a deep chin wound. Dana had been leading horses on the main barn floor when the kick occurred. the mare had been in a stall and the owner said she had not kicked at a person before.
Geo W Spence of Bolly Springs North Carolina details a measles bronchitis scare in his infant. After trying eight stores for a recommended remedy with no relief a storekeeper advised Chamberlains Cough Remedy and the baby recovered. Sold by Raymond Drug Co.
The Farmers' Co operative Creamery Association will meet at the opera house on Wednesday January 2 at 1 60 for officer elections and other business. S W Buy secretary signs notice.
An old advertisement touts Ayer's Cherry Pectoral as a cure for a hard cough and urges readers to tell a friend to ask their doctor about it. The garbled text also references doctors using significant quantities of medicine for throat issues.
A fire last week at the Henry 8 Wait place about 9 PM consumed the house and nearly all its contents while the family was in the sitting room. Neighbors aided but water scarcity prevented saving the structure. Insurance totaled $400 with Mr French and relatives now staying in a south town house.
Former Nashua residents Mr. Arthur Johnson and Miss Emma Shatelt of Cedar Falls united in marriage at Waterloo Monday at 2 30 o clock with Rev Hull officiating. Both raised in Nashua they are held in high regard and will live on a Cedar Falls area farm.
A deal closed last week between the city and the Illinois Central Railroad Company to supply water to stock yards and a supply tank for engine use at a rate of 40 dollars per month. Workers laid a pipe from Granger and Nafus corner to the railroad property. In winter the tank will serve the stock yards and engine area, with plans in spring for a 60 000 gallon tank. The arrangement adds about 8500 dollars annually to the city treasury with modest city outlay.
The home of Mr and Mrs William Waterbury two miles west of town experienced a week of sorrow as their three month and fifteen day old son Ralph James Waterbury died after a two week stomach illness. Funeral services were held at 1 pm yesterday at the home with Rev Linden officiating and burial at Osk Hill Cemetery.
On Christmas day John Thomas caused a scare at home when his family left him semiconscious with an open bottle of lndanudm nearby. Mrs H R Moon, then Mrs C B Hickok, found him and Dr Horton treated him. by morning he returned to work.
Local farmer L Sickert reports his harness cut while he and family attended Christmas services at the German church. Several other farmers had harness damaged as well. Sickert offers a 95 reward for proof identifying the culprits. Also includes an advertisement for Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets with free samples from Raymond Drug Co.
A farm to be sold at auction to the highest bidder on Saturday afternoon December 29 at the bank corner. The property lies two miles south and three miles west of Nashua and includes 10 acres with 60 acres under law for pasture and hay land. Owner listed as ALLEN Watt. Dentist notice mentions Er L S Porbes with details about guaranteed painless treatments.
