A 19th century notice urges Waterbury and Hunt Clothiers patrons to back a public sewer project. It explains costs to property owners, potential rise in real estate value, and the need for petitions and council action to fund a sewer line along Majin Street from the church corner toward the west, urging prompt citizen participation before warm weather.
The Emanon Club met December 7 with Mrs Grace Bradford guiding discussion on art. Roll call cited quotations on art and artists. An informal ballot named officers for the coming year. Mrs. D W Schaurr died from fatal burns suffered when a kerosene can was replaced by a gasoline can and the liquid ignited while she prepared to care for her baby. Her husband, aided by a neighbor, extinguished the flames and physicians provided care, but she passed away about ten o clock. Also note: A separate item mentions A Powell missing a party due to stomach concerns and praising Chamberlains Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy via a Sumner resident.
