Jack Putney of Bradford is jailed in Chickasaw County awaiting district court on a larceny of a motor vehicle charge. He previously served time for stealing Owen Short's car and was caught Friday night near Greenwood school yard attempting to steal Guy Carpenter's vehicle. He was found with a large stick of stove wood under his coat and held after a night arrest. He waived preliminary hearing and bond set at $1,000, which he could not raise, sending him to the county jail.
