Native Son Jack Sutherland Dies in Waterloo
Jack Sutherland 78 native son of Nashua died at his Waterloo home of a heart attack Tuesday. He owned the Upton cafe on East Fourth for 40 years before retiring in 1965. Born May 27 1892 in Nashua to Alanto and Henrietta Coffin Sutherland he married Mildred Springer July 6 1908 in Nashua. Survivors include his wife daughter Mrs Leo B Genung of Rochester NY and Mrs Emmi Smith of Waterloo two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Burial services were held at Oak Hall cemetery Friday with relatives and friends from Nashua Charles City and Cedar Rapids in attendance.
