High School Pageant to Feature The Birthday of 2 Kings

Students at the high school will present a pageant play titled The Birthday of 2 Kings Sunday afternoon in the school auditorium. The program includes carols sung by the music department and several musical numbers led by Miss Marilyn Kiefer. Cast includes Beverly Strike, Maurice Schilling, Eugene Jubb, Richard Nicholson, and others, with scenes and solos by Mary Hoop, Pauline Demro, and Garrulous performers.

Butler Dies at 89 After Thanksgiving Bed Rest

YEAR RESIDENT, who came here in a covered wagon, William Mila Butler, 89, died Wednesday December 11 after confinement to bed since Thanksgiving Day. Funeral held Saturday. He lived in the community for 80 years on the Butler farm near Nash, born October 14, 1837 in Oak Grove Wisconsin. He married Ine Fre Hake in 1888 and leaves a wife, four daughters, one son died, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren. He joined the Methodist church about 75 years ago. Burial was at Sarles Cemetery. Families from nearby towns attended the service and sent thanks for floral tributes.

Globe Trotters to play Nashua Independents this week

Jessie Rauber Dies at Cedar Falls Funeral Thursday

Chickasaw County Names New Engineer Helgeland

The Chickasaw County board of supervisors hired S. M. Helgeland as county engineer to fill the vacancy after the death of Engineer Hahn. Helgeland has prior experience as an engineer in Humboldt County. Robert Wylder has been acting as engineer since Hahn’s death. Also noted is an upcoming farm sale for Robert Moeller east of Waverly on December 27 with livestock and machinery listed in next week’s issue. Annual Legion Christmas Stag Party Hosted Friday Night

The Thompson Fisher post of the American Legion hosts its annual Christmas stag party at the Knights of Pythias Hall on Friday night December 20. An onstage ad promises prizes from over 100 dressed turkeys geese and ducks for the games. All men invited. The county supervised play night attracted thirty boys last Thursday evening with Methodist men in charge and games including volleyball ping pong shuffleboard and darts. Tim Chandlers New Standard Super Service Station opens in Nashua

Nashua opens a new Standard Station on North Main Street operated by Tim Chandler. The concrete block building measures 30 by 52 feet with a 30 by 32 foot greasing and washing room for two cars, plus offices, furnace room, and toilets. Heated by oil, it uses an attached water tank for warm weather car washing.
