Miss Myrtle Kreiger Drops Dead at Home

Miss Myrtle Kreiger, 21, longtime tele phone operator at Tonia, died Saturday afternoon at her home. Though born with heart trouble, she felt well at noon and ate a hearty dinner before writing a letter then collapsing in the bedroom. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Martin Kreiger of Ionia. Funeral was held Monday.

School Notes From Community High School Update

Carrie Funk notes that high school reopened after a short Thanksgiving break. The Clolian society elected Maurice Brooks president Clark Dexter secretary and treasurer and Paul Jepao n sergeant at arms for three months. The next meeting is Dec 12. Waverly vs Nashua Thapka game was canceled due to rain. Students plan a basket social next Friday to raise funds. Lola Stedman and Anna Darby returned after absences. Teachers visited grades. Martin Miller entered eighth grade.

Three Are Called in a Rural Iowa Obituary Batch

The Nashua Nashua area reports the deaths of Lizzie Hicks age 17 from Republic after an appendicitis operation and Mrs. Charles Ullom age 34 at Nashua, with funeral services noted. Also listed are Anna Belle Lockwood Allom age 24 and Mrs. Charlotte Tucker age 76 with details of their families and burial plans.

Frank Scribner Feigns Illness at City Hall

A Waterloo man about 63 visited city hall and staged four fits to gain aid, holding a pipe during attacks. Witnesses questioned the illness as feigned and the county records consider whether Scribner deserves relief or is seeking charity. He was later sent to the county home where another attack occurred, prompting debate among officials and the public.

Annual Meeting of Big Four Society Elects New Directors

The Big Four Society held its annual meeting at the opera house on Tuesday afternoon. All old officers were re-elected except two board members. Tracy and Ed Pherce were replaced by W. S. Baieoy and others.

Golden wedding observed in Nashua couple’s 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Sample celebrated their golden wedding at home with 39 guests. The couple, married Nov 30 1856 in Bradford Iowa, have two children and two grandchildren and have lived in Nashua since moving from Bradford. The anniversary menu featured sandwiches and sweets prepared by local ladies.

Angel of Death Calls Had NineYearOld Daughter

Thirty years ago the Angel of Death took a daughter aged nine from the Sample family leaving a line of survivors. Interwoven notes mention gifts received including a Morris chair chinaware jewelry and cash from relatives. Oak Hill Cemetery Association reports dated 1906 detailing receipts expenditures and a year ending balance.
