Rev Turrentine his wife and daughter from Narka spent Thursday at LCG Wailes. Elbert Puckett is almost recovered from measles. U G Day and wife began Friday for home in Kansas City after visiting relatives nearby. Alice Wailes sewed last week for aunt Mrs Shoemaker.
Ida notes list visits and calls among residents and families. Mr Will Ward and daughter Myrtle travel to Burr Oak to visit relatives while others from Narka, Munden, Fairbury, Belleville and surrounding towns share visits and social calls with neighbors and kin.
A hard freeze hit Rose Creek last Tuesday night. Ed Watson installed a phone last Tuesday. Hogs were marketed by Ed Thomas, Willy Callahan in Chiester and Fred, Martin, P. E. Frank Kramel Sr died May 12 at his son Edward's home southeast of Narka Kansas. Born in Bohemia he came to the United States as a young man living in Pittsburg Pennsylvania then Hanover Kansas and finally on a farm near Narka. He died after a brief illness and leaves two sons and a daughter. Funeral at one o'clock Monday conducted by Rev. D Williams with burial in the Bohemian cemetery south of Narka.
The Narka Camp No 3394 M W A offers condolences for the death of the father of neighbor Frank Kramel. The resolutions express sympathy and commend the family to divine mercy, with copies to be filed in camp minutes and sent to the Narka News.
