Narka residents report many sick lists and community activities. Families and neighbors, including August Feil the new janitor, Ed Dovel and F. A. Sorick visiting Fairbury, and Miss Edyth Keerner at the teachers association, fill the week with calls, visits, and local events across Mahaska and nearby towns.
Epworth League Program Pleases Large Audience
At M. S. church Sunday evening the Epworth League presented a program with the Narka orchestra providing music. Mrs. C. W. Yoder sang solos and readings, a male quartet performed Cling to the Bible my boy and Your Country Needs You Now, and the Star Spangled Banner was sung. The audience enjoyed patriotic selections and the program drew a large attendance.

North Central Kansas teachers head Beloit session
The thirty-fifth annual North Central Kansas teachers association meets in Beloit March 14 15 16. Fourteen counties are represented with speakers including Governor Arthur Capper and State Superintendent W D Ross. New features include a board of education round table music contest and basketball tournament led by E E Brouwer Lydia Prosser and A R Loop.

Chopin Club Meets for February Session at Mrs Helene Thomas Home
The Chopin club held its February gathering at Mrs Helene Thomas's home with a ragtime program featuring Tipperary Blues Twelfth Street Rag Sunny Jim Box Rag and Red Rocker Huskin Time. Special guests included Mrs Joseph Tepley Mrs Earl Keene Miss Nina Peters and others. The next meeting is set for March 20 at Mrs Allie Joy’s residence.

Belleville State Bank Names H N Douglas New Cashier
H N Douglas has been chosen as cashier and will begin duties March first. He moves his family back from Wichita to Belleville to reside on West Caswell street. Douglas previously worked at the Farm Loan Bank in Wichita after serving as county clerk. The family will be welcomed by many friends in Belleville.

Local Residents Attend Social Visits and Family Gatherings
A chain of visiting relatives and friends fills the community pages. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shimp attended a Saturday gathering at J. E. Peleskey's, while the Hiatts and their son visited Reynolds and Leslie Cossart's home. The Paulicheks guests with Henry Paulichecks and Edina and Dorothy stayed with their grandparents in Narka. Virgil Morey, a sixth grader, is ill with pneumonia but improving. The week includes birthday and golden anniversary notices for the Cossarts and the W. Bixlers, with invitations issued for their sixtieth wedding anniversary celebration.
