Narka reports residents visiting Lincoln Vernon and Fairbury on various business and family matters. births, sick lists, holiday plans, and local social events fill a busy week with church union plans and school break noted.
Round Grove residents report Thursday through Monday gatherings. Pansy Peters Tony Novak Char ley Novak and George Chaloupka visited Mr and Mrs John Cerny and daughters. A C Cerny helped Wes Cerny. Roy Ginn and Mollie Cerny spent time with Cernys. Families including Brabecks Koubas and Fiala shared dinners and evenings with relatives.
Enrollment in grades has grown with the addition of Twila Blecha and George Gleason. Students missed days due to snow while others stayed in town for weather. tests in geometry and civics stirred excitement.
Mr and Mrs Norm Morton and family were Sunday guests of Bud Walker and family. Jas Mapes and family spent Sunday with his mother and brother. John Shorney Sr spent Sunday with his son Joe and family. Albion Fench spent Sunday with John Skupa and family. Mr and Mrs Joe Semerad and children and Joe Slavik were Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs F E Pelesky Ed Mapes spent Saturday evening with J J Shorney. Mrs J J Shorney and children spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs John Shorney Sr.
Washington reports from London indicate Lloyd George and Clemenceau favor allowing reasonable reservations to the peace treaty. This could complicate the U S senate stance as President Wilson remains unwilling to revive the treaty. Foreign reps weigh signaling acceptance to break deadlock. Viscount Grey notes Britain would not oppose reservations protecting American constitutional rights.
Miss Effie Merritt, a patient at a local hospital, wandered away this morning and had not been found by late tonight. The sheriff was notified, bloodhounds failed to trail through the snow, and officials fear she may be lost.

John Wells, living on Marion Johnson place north of town, was seriously injured Friday evening when a wood splinter rotated his cornea and lodged in the eye. Dr Farland extracted the fragment, and Wells could distinguish day from night. The eye is now healing well.
