Class Party Hosted by KE L Thomas Family

Mr and Mrs KE L Thomas entertained their Sunday School class on a Wednesday evening. Emma Brosh played piano as they sang. After a short business meeting lunch was served by Mrs Thomas assisted by Miss Brosh and Mrs Koontz. Sixteen attended due to bad weather.

Christmas Sermon Planned and School Cantata Lost

The M. E. Church notes a Christmas sermon next Sunday at 11 a.m. The Sunday school cantata could not be held due to lost programs, but a tree and gift gathering are planned. An entertainment is set for December 24 at 8 p.m. The Gospel Team receives continued support and cooperation from the congregation. League lesson discussions impressed a large audience under Mrs. leadership.

The note recalls a cheerful Sabbath at Ma hasska and a good day at Narka with a lively morning ladies quartette and an evening male chorus. Death of Catherine Dovel in Republic County Kansas

Catherine A Dovel born Rockingham Virginia September 16 1827 died at home near Munden Kansas December 6 1915 aged 88 years 2 months 22 days. She married St Clair Dovel June 30 1850 and had nine children six survive. The family moved from Nemaha Nebraska to Republic County in 1883 and resided there. She joined the Church of the Brethren in 1854 and remained loyal. Funeral at home Wednesday 11 am conducted by Ed E D Stewart. Interment Ida Cemetery beside her husband May 15 1911.
