Man Dies After Fall From Load of Alfalfa Near Alton
O K Thompson 45 of Sumner township near Osborne died from a broken neck after falling from a load of alfalfa. His body was found by schoolchildren on a roadside while he hauled hay from the Wineland place to his own eleven miles south of Alton. Survived by wife and several children.

The Drover's National Bank in Kansas City loses about 96 000 dollars. Thos Henry the bank detective is shot in the thigh during a lobby hold up at the Live Stock Exchange Building. Four thousand dollars was recovered along the robbers path as they fled to a car. Henry and three others tried to save the funds but the bandits escaped. The incident is described as the largest hold up in Kansas City history.
