Burglary Suspects Arrested After Farmhouse Break-In
Two men were arrested by the sheriff's office on burglary and larceny charges after being found inside the Sanford and Burandt farm residences northwest of Belleville following a Yankee Robinson show. Jewelry and personal property linked to the homes were recovered. The duo remains in custody. Nighttime shooting near Talmo ends in car fleeing toward Belleville

Fire In Wheat Field Traced To Rock Island Train
A fire in the F M Johnson wheat field near Belleville spread across several acres of shock corn and threatened farm buildings. The Belleville fire department and about 100 residents battled the flames using sacks of water coats and tree branches. A back-fire halted the blaze before it reached structures. Kr Wells attempted to stop the fire with a furrow but could not.
