Nakusp Ore Shipments Mark Contract Change

Ore shipments from Nakusp close the Alpha contract and begin a smaller deal with Mountain Chief. The Lytton carried 373 tons of Alpha, totaling about 810 tons so far this week. Mountain Chief sent 50 tons by train, with more expected, and Slocan Star will start monthly shipments alongside other properties.

Attempted Gaol Delivery Foiled by Officer Overnight

Albert Littlejohn, held for robbery, faced an attempted jailbreak last Thursday night as friends plotted to pry open the gaol door. Officer Fauquier, warned of the plan, slept in the gaol with his blankets, thwarting the escape. The conspirators were warned such acts would not be treated as a joke.

The Caiboo ercex placer mines suffered severe losses after back to back floods. High water destroyed improvements, a second flood wrecked the site, snow followed by warm weather swelled rivers, and the Goat Canyon Co. halted operations after gear was carried away and shafts flooded.

Revelstoke resident H N Coursier said the Revelstoke townsite dispute should end next month as the case sits before the Privy Council. If Farwell wins, deeds by the Dominion Government may be disregarded and land reallocation could occur. The dispute touches about 120 acres, with wider claims by JL A Mara MP and others.
