The project, backed by government support, is now an accomplished fact with substantial traffic expected soon.
C P R officials returned to Revelstoke after inspecting the Kuskanook Slocan line and said the road would be taken over in two weeks once upper end is stabilized. Government engineer verdict may affect timing but operation is planned for winter traffic. Contracts with mine owners secure ore shipments and regional rail traffic this season. Snow may challenge Summit City the worst spot.
