Totwell and Irving of Victoria announce in the B C Gazette that at the next Legislature meeting a private bill will be introduced to incorporate a company to build operate and maintain a railway from Kaslo up Kaslo creek to Bear Lake then to Carpenter creek with branches to mines and ports including docks and telegraph lines. The plan opposes the Kaslo Slocan Railway. The CPR will add a Vancouver Victoria passenger side wheeler capable of 18 knots. Temperance advocates expect Ontario prohibition plebiscite next month to pass by a large margin.
