Gateway to Slocan Mines Through Nakusp Route
West Kootenay promotes the Nakusp and Slocan Railway shipping port at Arrow Lake and New Denver as the gateway to the Slocan mines. It notes hot springs near Upper Arrow Lake and expects thousands of tons of ore to reach Nakusp for steamer transport to Revelstoke. Gold and silver ledges are reported within three miles of Nakusp amid a growing town with hotels, stores, a sawmill, wharf, warehouses, and other facilities.
