Bandon Merchant James Bean Dies in Yard Tragedy
James Bean of Randheman and Bean grocery and hardware in Bandon died suddenly from heart trouble Tuesday morning in his yard. Born October 3, 1887 in McMinnville he would have been 68 soon. He previously ran Sampa post office and general store before moving to Bandon in 1918 and later entering hardware with his brother in law B I Randleman. Bean served in Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias, led Bandon Boy Scouts, and is survived by his widow three brothers and four sisters. Funeral held at Schroeder Brothers chapel with interment at Odd Fellows cemetery.
