Voters reject a 406000 bond to add a multi purpose and music wing at Myrtle Crest Middle School by 566 to 422 final tally, with precinct splits showing broad support gaps. Officials note total project cost 528618 and potential Coos Bay funds would have covered 122000, while North Bend and Coos Bay districts also defeated their bonds, closing North Bend schools on Sept 30.
City officials plan a public questionnaire to guide a comprehensive plan under SB100. Myrtle Point defeated Reedsport 20 to 8 as the Bobcats relied on a potent passing game and strong rushing attack. Aaron McCall led with 78 rushing yards on 12 carries and 22 yard reception for the opening score.
