Myrtle Point fire department rushed Monday evening to the old Dan Reet place in West Myrtle Point. The blaze endangered the Hugo Michal residence before bystander witnesses helped firefighters bring it under control.
Mrs. H. H. Thomas reports the local Red Cross shipped 82 baby gowns 4 sleeveless sweaters 1 muffler 4 beanies to headquarters. A new shipment arrived last Wednesday with men's pajamas women's bed jackets hospital gowns and baby slips. Local volunteers are urged to plan fall and winter work to aid hospital needs as demand grows.
Haul government wheat to Coquille by Mr and Mrs Andrew Waterman of Bancroft on Monday. Mrs Mab Martin left for California to visit a brother for two weeks. Doris Frye of Broadbent traveled to San Diego California to visit friends for about a week.
