Last reports Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning update Mrs. A N Gould of Coquille was critically injured in a collision involving a school bus near Florence while returning from Portland with her husband. She suffered head injuries and was taken to a North Bend hospital. Gould is a longtime Myrtle Point city engineer and brother to Mrs. Barker of Coquille.

Two Race Horses Killed In Car Mishap Near Oakland
Two valuable race horses Terror and Sad Iron were killed Sunday when the trailer they were in overturned on the Pacific highway two miles north of Oakland while en route from the state fair racing meet at Salem. Oscar T Anderson of Klamath Falls owned the horses and drove the car. A passing maneuver caused the trailer hitch to break and the horses were killed. Anderson and the other occupant escaped serious injury and sought aid in Klamath Falls.

The Iron Mountain Spike Camp in Powers China Flat CCC camp, supervised by Siskiyou National Forest, develops a 40 man firefighting crew ready to respond with four days' supplies.
