The Coos County Court met with county veterinarians and health officials to discuss actions to prevent a rabies outbreak. Present were doctors Haug Whittaker Crawford Morgan Werth Starnn Fields Tarrtcows Krusec Barklow and others. They noted a rabies case in Medford and that dogs cats skunks rats and bats can transmit rabies. The Southwestern Oregon Veterinary Medical Assn. agreed to reduce inoculation fees from 5 to 3.50 per animal. No clinics are planned for now. if needed later, costs will stay near the reduced rate.
