Dement Survey Shows Support for State Lottery in Coos and Curry
A survey by State Sen. Sam Dement of 2,400 responses from 19,500 registered voters in Coos and Curry counties finds 49 percent favor a state operated lottery to fund schools while 34 percent oppose property tax funding for schools. Voters split on a constitutional amendment to ban new taxes and on lowering the legal age to 18, each about 50 percent yes.
