Twelve school districts in the Coos Bay area will vote on consolidation Monday October 23. Polls open 2 to 8 p m at Harding school for Coos Bay, other districts meet 7 30 to 9 30 p m in their schoolhouses or Grange hall Delmar uses Grange hall as site Empire meets in the new school building Glasgow Heights Ken tuck Millington Coos River Allegany Eastside Lakeside Bunker Hill Charleston and Sumner are the districts. Voters must be residents for six months and registered 30 days prior in the precinct within the district.
Mrs Arnold Melby president of the local Community Chest urges all workers and interested members to attend tonight at 8 o clock in the new Scout building. The meeting will discuss this year’s quota and other association business.
The Coos County Community Concert Association released its season lineup to be held at the Coos Bay High School auditorium. Dorothy Manor appears November 19 at 2 30 PM, James Pease on February 5 at 8 15 PM, Columbus Boy Choir on February 19 at 8 15 PM, and Whittmore & Lowe on March 12 at 8 15 PM.
Reports say Nick Perkins former city recorder will file and run in the November 7 election. He faces incumbent C P Moore who currently holds the recorder post.

S Sgt William R O Neil from Denmark Oregon, at a Fifth Air Force Base in Japan, has 700 combat hours in a long career. He flew B 24 missions over Vienna and Normandy, KOed a German MB 109, served in Korea over Pyongyang and Seoul, and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters. He plans to keep flying.
Chief of Police Jack Flater hobbled on crutches after injuring his knee while rushing to an auto collision. He fell turning a corner at home, leaving him the sole injured party. He was seen hobbling at a Monday council meeting, still on crutches.
Dickson lauds steady growth of voluntary prepaid health plans offering protection against illness costs. The non group drive aims to extend the Plan to self employed retirees domestics and others outside group enrollment to cover more than 25 percent of the population with hospital services and medical surgical benefits nationwide.
Maxine Hall of Myrtle Point has been elected to the rock rally squad at Oregon State. She joins six rally girls from Corvallis and Portland with assistants named from Astoria and Portland.
