Auto Collision Near Davieslough Injures Tucker, Douglas

On a Saturday afternoon a road collision occurred on a blind turn north of Davieslough involving a Mereld editor Ames L. Tucker driving a Tucker sedan and a roadster driven by Amey L. Douglas from Oregon Ghyla. The crash happened at high speed on the wrong side of the road. Douglas was unfamiliar with the winding stretch and the Tucker car sustained about 50 in damage, insured.

Myrtle Point FFA Judging Team Receives Chamber Support

The Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce hosted a Tuesday meeting for the Smith-Hughes Judging Team from Myrtle Point High School. Gearhart placed eighth of 250 in poultry judging and team members gave talks on the trip and future plans while instructor R W Schaad thanked the chamber for aid.

Hunters Return From Eastern Oregon Expedition

Henry Winters and Pat Cornell of Bandon and Clarence Bartlett of Myrtle Point returned Monday from an extended hunt in eastern Oregon. They brought back three bucks and saw as many as four does in a single day while traveling via John Day and Portland.

Ladies Aid Shower at Presbyterian Home

Forty eight members attended the Presbyterian Ladies Aid shower at Mrs Henry Schroeder's home on Wednesday afternoon. Donations for the December bazaar were plentiful. Mrs T D Guerin presided with Mrs Henry Hermann and Mrs Wilfred Hunt assisting. Mrs John Belloni received a birthday prize. Refreshments of hot tamales and coffee were served.

VFW Elect Friday Officers Named at Regular Meeting

The local Veterans Foreign Wars post held its Friday meeting electing officers to be installed on the second Friday in November. Two Hurt In Wreck Near Bridge As Driver Falls Asleep

Darrell Anderson of Fishtrap drove his light truck over the grade near Bridge Sunday. He and his father Thermos Anderson were injured and transported by ambulance to Mast Hospital. The elder Anderson suffered severe facial and hand lacerations, a fractured shoulder, a broken wrist, a concussion, and other injuries. the truck and car were severely damaged.

Damage suits arise from June junction crash in Oregon

Lawsuits filed this week name the Seattle Kel logg Sales company of Battle Creek Michigan and others in a junction crash at Powers state secondary highway and Myrtle Point Roseburg highway at 2 pm June 2.
