Myrtle Point officials proclaim October 24 1969 United Nations Day and urge public programs to build awareness of UN aims. A parade planned for October 28 at 2 30 p m features marching units bands Scout groups and flags from member countries. A DMV driver license examiner will be on duty October 28 at City Hall for license applications and tests.

District 41 Board Approves Time Release and Building Plans
Arago district school board approved a request for school release time for religious education at the last meeting October 13. Superintendent Joe Stewart will compile cost figures for a district building program. The board studied 1969-70 tax summary and agreement sheets and approved borrowing authority for short term funds. Myrtle Point FFA members Gregg Warren Andy Vincent and Mike McWilliams placed third among 80 teams at the Pacific Inter Grange livestock judging event led by Verlin Hermann. Gregg Warner won 4H high individual honors from 240 entrants. Eddie Reed joined the National FFA Band for the convention in Kansas City.
