Work Halted On City Water Works Until Spring

The city announces a suspension of pump house and water system improvements due to bad weather and cement curing delays. Work will resume in the spring and housing for pumps and equipment will be completed at that time.

Fine Levied for Disturbance in City Court

Charlen F. Morgan of Myrtle Point was fined 100 dollars in city magistrate court for disturbance. Part of the fine was suspended during a six month probation. Morgan was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance in a local court. Mr and Mrs A D Offley sold Snow White to Mr and Mrs L Lonberry of Chehalis. The new owners take possession Tue Nov 19. Mr Offley plans to stay through the school year due to his daughter in high school.

Timber cutting in the quarter ending September 30 topped an all time forestry service record. Chief forester Lyle F. Watts said about 1.0 million board feet were cut, with roughly 417.9 million feet from 19 national forests in the North Pacific region. James M. Nichols 44 died last May in a timber accident while viewing operations of the N. F. P. Logging Co. He willed his share valued at about 3600 dollars to his brother and heir, Peer and Heary Meider, with Peer named executor.
