Myrtle Point Garden club calls for entries for its second chrysanthemum show at City Hill on Friday November 18. Exhibits must be in by 1 pm and viewing opens at 1 pm with judging and until 9 pm. no admission. Programs at 7:30 pm feature Mrs E V Ostrander. Containers and separate varieties required. Classes include Hardy, Pompon, Dishheaded, Reflexed, and Best Basket or Vase, with awards for first and second. Local residents travel to Portland for the trip.

Coos County voters backed the Democratic ticket in a Tuesday election with a lone exception for county commissioner. Unofficial results show Doane winning the county commission seat with 493? votes against Republican Kennedy. Other races list state senator Goss and representatives Knapp and McCloskey among Republicans, while Flaxel and Oddy run as Democrats for district attorney and county clerk respectively. The county surveys show Kern as Republican and Vinton as Democrat.
