A Local column blends light mischief with hunting news and community color. Mrs Carl L Morse of West Myrtle Point bagged her first buck with a 30 30 during a roe hunt, firing three shots from a rock stand before the animal fell. The Myrtle Point Lions Club hosted a Coos County stag party in Coquille with notable attendees.
Continuous rains surge the Coquille River to flood heights cutting Myrtle Point from highways and leaving homes isolated. Two men, Lester Howe of Myrtle Point and Webb Mast, are reported dead.
