County Fair Board Plans Ground Purchase and Street Work
The Cups and Curry County Fair Board met at the Chandler hotel in Marshfield and decided to acquire the Lehmanowsky residence adjoining the fair grounds to use the extra acre for a main entrance and exhibits. With Fourth Street being graded near the high school, the board will coordinate repairs to move a portion of the land area as needed and begin preliminary plans for the work. The meeting was well attended and enthusiastic, with L. H. Pearce noting the progress. The next gathering is set for Port Orford on the second Tuesday of June.

Local Car Struck On Both Sides In Crash

Track Meet Saturday At Myrtle Point With County Schools
All Coos county high schools will participate in the annual track and field meet at the Myrtle Point fair grounds this Saturday. Preliminary events start at 10 am, finals by 1 pm. Class A includes Myrtle Point Marshfield North Bend Bandon and Coquille. Class B lists Coos River Arago Powers Lakeside and Bridge. Admittance is 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for students.

Man Dies After Car Leaves Highway Near Glide Oregon
James A. Young, about 50, was driving toward his Glide home after leaving an oil well in Fat Elk valley when his car left the highway near the county line. He died about three hours later at Myrtle Point. A flagging crew found the upside down car. Medical help arrived too late.
