County Unit Plan to Be Studied By School Directors
County directors will study a proposed county wide school unit plan with a possible vote on June 17 at annual meetings. The plan allows rural schools to be operated by one district, a system already in five Oregon counties. Josephine County recently adopted it. Proponents cite tax equalization and state aid, while opponents cite reduced local control. The study panel includes Ivan Laird Fred Kruse and Mrs. R A Jewb.
