Irene Johnson former Cors County Democratic Central Committee chairman announces she will seek the party nomination for county clerk. Johnson served as secretary to Circuit Court Judge Janes A. Norman since 1964 and as Fourth District representative on the State Democratic Party Executive Board. She moved to Oregon in 1946 and worked in the state legislature and for Gov. Robert D. Ann and Kathleen Nash of Fairview no longer walk a half mile to the bus. A cooperative effort by we Bares of Land Management and the Federal Highway Administration created a stocked farm around six miles up the Middle Creek forest access road. Log truck traffic had made the road hazardous, especially on dark rainy mornings. Mrs Nash praised district engineer Chalmer Vustafson for restoring her faith in humanity.

Siskiyou National Forest Supervisor W P Ronayne announced a spring project to spray 7599 acres across Coos Curry and Josephine counties. Helicopter contracts total 691 | 1176 | 1032 acres for Calico Gold Beach and Powers districts. Reforestation Service will spray 4400 acres on the Chetco district. Herbicides 2 4 D and 2 4 5 T used with water mix to limit hardwood growth. Environmental impact statement prepared under NEPA.
