Rodeo and Fair Plans Outlined for Season

The meeting at Marshfield outlined a Myrtle Point rodeo and county fair featuring 4-H clubs FFA and agricultural groups. Gay Nineties Basket Social at Myrtle Point High

The Myrtle Point high school student body sponsors a Gay Nineties basket social Friday March 70 with alumni invited. Auctioning of baskets by Lee Powell starts at 12 in the gym and runs through the afternoon. Pop and hotdogs will be sold to raise funds for student body activities. Women From Coos County Convene In Bandon Meeting

The Coos County Federation of Women's clubs holds a day long spring meeting at the Bandon Presbyterian Church with sessions starting at 10 AM. Included are addresses by Ensign Earl Gibson, Mrs. O C Sanford, Mayor J K Franklin, and Mrs. Morris Latun, plus club reports and a patriotic tap dance. Luncheon occurs in the church basement and a tea at 3 30 PM with music by local clubs. Myrtle Point attendees may arrange transport through committee members.

Myrtlewood Shield Placed by Myrtle Point Rotary Club

A 20 inch Myrtlewood shield purchased by the Myrtle Point Rotary Club will be displayed in the Myrtle Hotel lobby to mark meeting times. The shield, crafted by John Roach of the Middle Fork Myrtlewood Company, was reported by secretary L H Pearce.

County Agent Banquet Speaker Highlights Farming Outlook

County Agent George H. Jenkins spoke at the Future Farmers banquet held at the local high school last Friday. He urged higher production across farm crops and noted bright prospects for flood control and drainage in the near future. Dinner for 135 parents and Future Farmer boys was served by Helen Austin and her team, with opening ritual by FFA officers and a varied post meal program. Walter Laird of Myrtle Point was made an honorary member for 194% by Edward Morrison, chapter president.

Funeral for Geers A. Masa in Myrtle Point

Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Schroeder Undertaking Co. chapel in Myrtle Point for Geers A. Masa 67 who died at his home near Arago after a three week illness. Rev T J Pryor will conduct the Methodist church service and interment will be in the Norway cemetery Masa born January 6 in Germany came to the area in 1912.
