Oregon State College Agricultural Experiment Station released a 100 page bulletin by economist Dr W H Dreesen detailing property tax trends in Oregon from 1910 to 1945. Delinquent tax collection fell from 46 5 million to 11 77 million by August 1945, yielding 34 74 million back taxes. Income tax receipts eliminated state property levies except for small mills in 1936 and 1939.

Different Woods To Be Tried As Railroad Ties
Oregon State College and the Southern Pacific railroad begin a long term wood research project testing cypress ties from several species as replacements for scarce Douglas fir. Western hemlock and white fir ties have been sent for testing with six more species to follow by May.
