Accident at Powers Junction injures Ron Burr

Ronald Burr of Coquille sustained severe cuts to the right eye and forehead when his car collided with a vehicle driven by Lindsay Carson of Roseburg at Powers Junction on highway 42. Carson and his wife Pearl received minor injuries. Burr was treated by passersby and transported to Mast Hospital.

Bull Frog Feasts on Swallows at Rogue River Ledge

A bull frog at the Lucas Hotel in Agness, overlooking the Rogue River, is reported to have eaten multiple swallows. Arago petitions to consolidate with Myrtle Point Union High School filed this week with the district boundary board. City Recorder C. P. Moore levied heavy fines this week. Ernest Bursie Shelton pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and received a $206 fine plus costs. Loren S. Swigert pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was fined $160 plus costs.

Cottle, 61, died Friday after seven weeks illness. Funeral services were held Monday at the Christian church led by Rev Phil Ryan. Interment in Seattle. Born October 2, 1888 in Salt Lake City, he moved to Myrtle Point three years ago. Survived by wife Marjorie of Myrtle Point and daughters in Seattle and California.
