Lions Picnic Brings Mexican Flair to Mauna Loa Beach

At the Mauna Beach Lions annual picnic 75 members enjoyed a Mexican themed layout. Pomona Granges Plan Talent Show At Coos Co Fair

Myrtle Grange hosted Pomona Grange on Saturday July 21 with Carl Peterson presiding. A committee planned a county talent show with 12 minutes per subordinate grange and five school judges, tickets at 1.20 with prizes for top ticket sellers and participation rewards, and the next Pomona meeting set for October at McKinley Grange.

Vacation Bible School Climaxed by Unified Program

The M. E. Church vacation Bible school ended with a splendid Friday program. All departments presented a unit walk-and-talk of the Christian message. 171 enrolled and $62.73 was raised for Korea relief and Bibles.

Upholstery Class Plans Meeting For Women Students

A planning meeting for women enrolled in the upholstery class is set for Friday at 7 00 p m in room 6 at the high school. Mrs Mae Frye will lead and answer questions about materials and supplies as the course begins August 27 with a 250 enrollment deposit.

M P Pioneer Mourned at Myrtle Point Funeral

Friends gathered for the funeral of Mrs Augusta B. Braden known as M P Pioneer who died Thursday at Norway cemetery. Born May 4 1874 in Los Gatos California she lived in Myrtle Point since age three. Survived by two daughters three grandchildren and four great grandchildren with a sister in Canby Oregon. Active and honorary pallbearers named with several out of town attendees listed.
