Fire Fatal In Powers
A fire in a Powers apartment killed Bernard Oliver of Klamath Falls early Sunday. The blaze confined to the unit shared with partner Mr Adams. Oliver was found on the floor after smoke and flames poured out. Adams discovered the fire and alerted firefighters. The Oliver family was notified in Klamath Falls.

Coos County Fair Premium Books Mailed to Exhibitors
Premium books for the 1963 Coos County Fair were mailed last week to exhibitors by fair manager J. H. Clarno. Books were furnished to 4 H and Vo-Ag leaders and last year's open class exhibitors. New exhibitors can pick up books at area businesses or the county extension office in the courthouse in Coquille. Completed blanks are due August 1 at the extension office.
