First 1000 Cans Done At Cannery
Over 1000 cans of meat cherries peas beets and carrots have been canned at the Union High School Community Cannery during its Wednesdays operation for the past month. Demonstrations attracted more than 100 attendees and the cannery will continue weekly with no family limit on canning amounts this year.

Lt. Earle L. Osborne of Myrtle Point Oregon, a key RAF heavy bomber officer in Italy, is cited by Col George R Acheson for outstanding achievement.
