Death of Hugh E. Gibson in Gravel Ford
Hugh E. Gibson died at six this morning at his son Joe Gibson’s home in Gravel Ford after idropsy. Born May 30 1854 in Harrisburg PA he leaves multiple children in California and Oregon and a brother Herman. Funeral will be conducted by a Methodist minister from Coquille with burial in Norway.

Coquille Valley Cows Report Strong June Milk Output
The Coquille Valley cow testing association reports 73 herds on test in June with 1936 cows, 64 dry, totaling 1,534,161 pounds of milk and 71,659 pounds of fat. High herds include W. E. Cress, C. A. Jones Act Violators Sentenced in Portland Federal Court
Christ Anton Nick Anton Cas Anton and James Bhow Jones liquor violators from Marshfield were found guilty in Portland federal court. Each received six months to a year on McNeill Island. Anton operated a pool hall and Nick assisted him. The case was the first Jones Act trial from Coos County, presided over by Judge McNary.
