Raymond Carver of Myrtle Point Oregon, promoted from staff sergeant to technical sergeant at an 8th Air Force station in England, serves as a Liberator crew chief in the oldest group. Coquille Fourth of July Celebrations Draw Large Crowds
Large crowds attended Coquille events over the long Fourth of July weekend with six to seven thousand in town for the six day celebration. The Tuesday parade featured about 130 horses and riders and the Horse Show drew four thousand spectators at the park. Net proceeds funded a local fund with nearly five thousand dollars from the Queen contest won by Miss Gwen Elrod, Hotary club candidate.
