Passenger train service to Myrtle Point slated for end
It is learned that Southern Pacific will discontinue passenger train service into Myrtle Point soon. Currently two trains run daily, one northbound before eight in the morning and one arriving from the north at three in the afternoon. The cut would affect Myrtle Point Coquille Norway Broadbent Gayard and Powers as services on the Coos Bay line end at Marshfield. The reduction results from railway competition with tracks and stages hurting business.

Mr and Mrs L A Roberts of Ashland were injured when their car collided with a oncoming vehicle on Camas Mountain Friday night. Blinded by headlights, the car went off the grade and required a wrecker from Pearce garage to transport it to Myrtle Point for repair. Ed Roberts accompanied the couple home to Ashland. Mr Roberts suffered torn ligaments.

Ruby Emaline Sargent Dies of Typhoid at Seven
