School District Seeks Bids for Concrete Work and Staff Changes
At the board meeting the School District No. 2 discussed inviting bids on game concrete work along Fourth street. The board reappointed Mrs. Mabel Barklow as clerk and Edwin Schroeder as janitor for another year. They also contracted John Essman to become physical director for the boys, replacing H W Lover who leaves for Linfield College.

Fat Elk Oil Well Drilling To Resume Soon

A small red frame building at the northwest corner of Maple and North streets is being torn down after a 35 year role in Myrtle Point's commerce. It housed J. R. Benson's early bank site and later the Myrtle Point Enterprise before becoming part of the Herald plant. The removal marks several Maple Street structures razed in three years, improving appearance and safety.
