Coos County Agricultural Outlook Conference Planned

Coos county plans an Agricultural Outlook Conference in Coquillo on Friday January HM at 108 m. under five local committees. Lions Ladies Night Of Fun At Myrtle Point Country Club

Myrtle Point Lions club hosts their annual ladies night next Wednesday from seven. Dinner and dance invite members and guests with the Pep Cats dance band providing music led by Bill Grogan. Health Nurse urges TB skin tests and dental care in Myrtle Point

County health data from 1940 show 242 examined children with 75.6 percent needing fillings 38 percent needing extractions and 53.3 percent having seen a dentist. Lola Elrod urged TB skin tests in schools and discussed health measures at the Myrtle Point Junior Woman's Club meeting. Waldemar Gurney was named Myrtle Point Junior Woman's Club Oregon representative for the National Convention in Atlantic City. The Coquille Valley Cow Testing Association will hold its annual meeting at Woodman hall Coquille on Thursday January 23 at 1030 am. George H Jenkins county agent and association directors arrange the event featuring officer elections and a report on the Oregon Dairymen's meeting focusing on Bangs Disease Control and sales promotion. Coos County Fair Dates Set for September 10 to 13

The Oregon Fair association fixed the Coos County Fair dates as September 10 to 13 after a Portland meeting. Wallace Dement L H Pearce and Perry Roper announced the schedule on their return. The Coos County Fair board will meet February 1 to plan the 1941 fair and discuss grounds improvements and a possible mid summer race meet on July 4.

Myrtle Point Junior High Gym Redecorated for Operetta

In March the Myrtle Point Junior High prepares for Land Of Dreams Come True with new curtains and backdrop. The stage features a maroon curtain with a gold Myrtle Point monogram to darken the room for films. Basketball swing standards appear as local boys lose 30-22 to Riverton but beat Coquille 28-18. Myrtle Point girls defeat Riverton 52-38 and Coquille 46-43. Funds from the Myrtle Point Woman's clubs and doll drives aid milk for local children.
