Pioneer citizen Hansen dies at Myrtle Point death notices

The Myrtle Point community mourns the death of Bees Hansen 70. He served as county assessor from 1890 to 1898 and led local commerce as postmaster and Gravel Ford grocer. A longtime fraternal member, he belonged to Masons Odd Fellows and Eastern Star. Survived by wife Ida and two daughters Sore Metta Rosslow and Florence Andrews. Services are set for Saturday at the Schroeder home.

Funeral services for Mrs Ure Ella Hembree held at Kroeder

Funeral services were held at Kroeder Funeral Home in Myrtle Point for Mrs Ure Ella Hembree 67 who died at home Tuesday. Rev T J Pryer conducted the service. Interment followed in Norway Cemetery. Hembree was born in Iowa September 20 1876 and had lived in the south part of the state for five years. L Hembree and Betsie Williams attended the family in care of arrangements.

Local clubs report strong year and community event

Mrs. Lawrence Clinton notes $225 in war bonds bought by the society. A 98 attendance counted at the Townsend clubs caravan in Coquille. Light refreshments and noon to afternoon programs followed. Attendees included C. C. Carter and others. An all day event featured luncheon and group entertainment for girls hosted by Mrs. Freeman and Mrs. Russell Dementae.
