Former Myrtle Point Postmaster Dies in Oregon
Henry B Steward, longtime Myrtle Point postmaster and former constable, died after news reached his brother-in-law Henry G Volkmar in Portland. Flue Fires Cause Slight Damage Here This Week
Fire broke out Tuesday morning in the Edwin Schroeder home on Fourth street when a stove heated the nearby wall too much. The blaze damaged wallpaper but was quickly put out by the fire department. Chief George Hughes injured his elbow during firefighting. A roof fire at the Jack residence Friday night caused by chimney sparks was extinguished with no damage.
