Powers Welcomes New Year Quietly With Dance
In Powers the new year began quietly with a New Years Eve dance hosted by Valley Camp of the Royal Niners. Sunny conditions gave way to rain and sleet later, while hills remained icy and white. The Lions Club closed 1949 with a light turnout as members traveled. Coquille Rat Club invited a New Years Eve celebration where each member could perform a story joke or song or face a fine.
