Rotary Foundation Fellowships and Local Community Notice
Rotary seeks candidates for graduate fellowships and technical training awards for ages 18 to 35 with education and work experience requirements. Since 1947 the foundation has awarded over 17.5 million dollars and placed more than 6,000 participants abroad for a year of study. Also, Myrtle Point hosts an open house March 5 at 6 30 pm at the former Baptist Church parsonage 720 Stover Lane with refreshments and slides by Curt Beckham.

The new homeowner and renter refund program sends refunds directly from the Department of Revenue rather than counties. Quarterly payments were due Feb 15 with the next installment due May 15.

Dairymen win top awards in Oregon region
Four Coon County dairymen received plaques at the Oregon Dairymen Association annual meeting in Medford for regional division wins. Wayne Russell of Coquille earned the Community Service Award, Iris Olsen of Coos Bay won top milk quality and purity, Kenneth Laird of Sitkum led milk production per cow in the 100 to 90 cow group, and Leonard Gcolari of Coguille topped the under 100 cow category. Oregon State University extension service judged the competition.

Myrtlewood Show Planned by Myrtlewood Association
The Myrtlewood Association will hold its sixth annual Myrtlewood Show at Pony Village in North Bend on March 1 and 8 with more than 20 shops signed up. At the last meeting the group voted to join the Oregon Coast Association for better advertising. All 1973 officers were re-elected: Robert Tuck of Bandon president, Max Hillsman of Vi.S. vice president, and Hilde Reicher of Glasgow secretary treasurer.
