A new 4 H building is planned with a 900 funding goal and a building committee named. Work to start soon and finish by the fair.

Ground Observer Corps To Begin Operations In March

Ground Observer Corps launches in Myrtle Point and other Ceos county cities with Pat Donahue as supervisor and Ron Endicott as Chief Observer. A Portland command liaison set appointments, a Brown property station site is prepared, a direct line to Portland is planned, and 21 plus volunteers will be needed. A February 20 volunteer meeting will include demonstrations and two hour duty shifts. Eugene Fields leads Coos county effort.

Farmers Special Guests At Rotary Club Meeting

Gareth Goddard introduced Don Estes who showed moving pictures of his Aldera trip. Myrtle Point won the attendance prize at the Tri City meeting in Coos Bay with fourteen present. A flock of cheese was the club's reward and served at the luncheon.

Coos County Chest X Ray Campaign Opens February 17

Twelve new tuberculosis cases and one death were reported in Coos County in the past six months. Men ranged 42 to 74 years, a 29 year old man, two women aged 26 and 39, plus an 80 year old man died. Funeral Rites For Mrs Mary Furman Held Last Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Furman wife of Louis Furman were held last Monday at Schroeder chapel with Rev. Christian Phil Ryan officiating.
