George Halsey Guerin Dies at 59 After Stroke at Ranch
George Halsey Guerin of Myrtle Point died after a stroke at his ranch. Born in Factoryville, Pennsylvania, he moved to Oregon in 1876 and worked as a stock man and rancher. He never married and was famed as a host to many local youths. A large crowd attended his Presbyterian service led by Rev E V Ostrander. Survived by three brothers and one sister, his burial was in Denmark cemetery on the family lot.
