Fire Department Answers Two Residence Calls on Weekend
The Myrtle Point Volunteer Fire Department responded to two home calls Friday and Saturday. Friday's blaze started near a floor furnace outside a flooded new house, causing minor damage and forcing a hardwood floor section to be removed to reach the fire. Chief John Fellner reported about 400 dollars in damage. Saturday night crews dealt with a stove overheating at Jean Parsons' home posing fire risk.
