Rotary Club notes a plan for a new high school complex to serve Ilion with a possible bond issue of about 1071-72 dollars per thousand of true end value. The high school would later become a middle school for grades six to eight with a 20 year repayment and interest near a stated rate.
The Oregon State System of Higher Education runs a unique "visitation team" that visits every high school in the state. Students from Powers High School travel to Myrtle Point High School for the visitation program as parents are invited to discuss post high school plans with their children.
The Coos Derry Douglas Economic Improvement Association CCD EID board meeting is set for 1 p.m. December 14 in the Coos County courthouse office at Coquille with open attendance. A CCD EID report will cover current district activities. A Gale Road home on Arago Rouse burned Monday afternoon in an explosion. Mrs Bond and three children Brian Wendy and Carls four months old were inside but escaped unharmed.
The Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce approved a study plan at a meeting last Monday urging the Myrtle Point Planning Commission to remove fairgrounds improvements from the study. A new athletic stadium is linked to a high school complex on Highway 42 with a 9.858 million bond vote set for Feb. 10.
The Myrtle Point High School honor roll and honorable mention for the period ending Nov 3 are released by Principal William Richardson. Names span seniors juniors and notable 4.0 to 3.20 GPAs, with a Christmas program mention for Myrtle Point District 41 schools and multiple students listed with various grades.
